I have been trying to understand how SLP pass on the rates to the owners of lodges and caravans on SLP sites. Therefore could people post or e-mail me with the amount they pay at an SLP site for either a caravan or a lodge.
I would also like to know how much the fees are at other sites. I will kick this off. SLP are trying to charge lodge owners on Fallbarrow £5,800 per year (for an extended season). SLP tell me I should be privileged to pay this amount because Fallbarrow is on the Lake. Well I don't quite see it that way. The cost of running a park should be dependent on the facilities and number of units not the location. Does the £5,800 include berthing for a boat, nope that is another £1,300 per season. Does the £5,800 include launching fees for a boat, nope that is another £60. Does the £5,800 include free wireless internet access in the clubhouse, nope that is £1 for 15 minutes.
You perhaps can now understand why I am getting so angry with SLP. If these level of charges are being repeated across the other sites, then SLP are in serious danger of killing the goose that laid the golden egg.
I note from the stats that 18 people viewed this blog today with over 200 page views (whatever all that means). However, that is a record and it does mean that there are people reading this. Please make yourself known either by subscribing to the blog or e-mailing me direct on:

We need to be careful to distinguish the moans we have about licence fees, pitch fees and rates Kev. Seems that your (very valid) complaint above relates more to pitch fees than rates.
