It would seem that SLP have recently invested in the infrastructure of Fallbarrow Park. They have erected a fence that starts near the boathouse (the one owned by the Management Training people, not the club) and runs along the road leading back to the dog exercise area. At least I think it runs that far, not yet seen it myself because as far as I am concerned the 2007 season ended a month ago. If anybody has any pictures, please e-mail them to me and I will upload them to the blog. Apparently it is a sight to behold.

Of real interest here is to why SLP spent some of the hard earned cash we fork out on site fees on some fencing along side of a road. My understanding is that it was a condition imposed on SLP for the privilege of having the season extended. Whoever (National Trust, Parks Authority) does not want people exploring the Lake shore for fear of disturbing the natural habitat. So access to one the few remaining undeveloped areas of Fallbarrow is now denied to all, and I presume for the whole season as well.

Well thanks very much SLP, in addition to not being allowed to launch a boat, or fish, you can't explore the Lake shore either. Of course, you could enjoy the friendly surroundings of the deserted club house, or wander round the shop and marvel at the empty shelves (assuming the shop is open of course)

For those of you with children thinking of enjoying the facilities at Fallbarrow, don't set their expectations too high for enjoying the play area. Apparently, the slide has been out of action for quite a long time now. Now I am not an expert in playground economics, but come on, how much does it cost to fix a kids slide. Of course that would entail spending some of the profit SLP makes from our site fees, and we can't have that can we Mr Hodgson.
