For those of you of a certain age, you may well remember the tv programme Catweazle. He was always flumoxed by the mysterious power he called "electrickery". Now it seems that SLP have also discovered "elctrickery", but have certainly not been flumoxed by its mystery.
It seems that some of Limefitters wanted to install an electric fire in their lodge. Being cautious souls they checked with SLP to see if there would be any problems. SLP suggested checking with the lodge manufacturer to see if the power supply could handle the extra load. The lodge manufacturer assured them there would be no problem providing the base power supply to the lodge was at least 60 amps, but ideally the recommended supply should be 100 amps. Checking back with SLP and asking what was the power rating of the installed supply, 20 amps was the amazing reply.
Now I am no electrician, but to me it seems that the installed power supply is not fit for purpose. This now has made me suspicious about the power supply at my lodge on Fallbarrow. I know that if I try to have the installed lounge heater and a portable electric heater on at the same time, then the power supply switch trips out. This usually involves me fiddling about in the dark trying to reset the switch on the outside of the Lodge. I just assumed that it was one of those things until I read of this on the forum:

So now I will be checking with Heritage to see what the recommended power supply should be, and then asking SLP what has actually been installed. My guess would be that it is a 20 amp supply as well.
Now I have no idea what the respective costs of 20 amp thingy is compared to a 60 or 100 amp thingy. But when we are paying tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds for these lodges, the thought that SLP are trying to squeeze a few extra quid out of us really hacks me off. It is just typical of the penny pinching attitude of the whole operation.
I just really despair at the whole approach of SLP. Why can't they just deliver real value for money instead of trying to rip us off all the time.
