There is an interesting thread on the forum, discussing the whole issue (or opportunity) of sub-letting on SLP sites

It is so far one of the few threads to go into a second page of posts. Opinion on the quality of service offered by SLP for sub-letting is divided (but 2 to 1 in favour of the "dissatisfied").

I guess many owners are unaware of the potential opportunity to sub-let. Even less I would imagine know that you do not have to use SLP as the agent for sub-letting. The complaints against SLP are quite serious, but quite basic and potentially easy to fix. SLP only pay the rentals (minus their 20%) in November, so you have to go a full (old) season before getting any revenue. Furthermore, SLP kind of forget to tell you if there have been any cancellations and some owners have turned bookings away (obtained independently) only to find out the holiday home was available after all. Finally, there have been some complaints about the quality of the cleaning service offered by SLP.

As the financial doom and gloom deepens, more owners will be looking the sub-let their holiday home to help ofset the extortionate cost of site fees and rates. The least SLP could do is deliver a decent service.

For others who may want to sub-let but dont want to use SLP, a couple of owners list their alternative ways of sub-letting:
